I run a Magnaflow but went for the opposite with the 22". Get a small Magnaflow or Borla and then if you feel the need for more sound after it is installed start looking to aftermarket cats or deleting the rears.

you want loud? Cherry bomb extreme. magnaflow has a mellow sound and flowmaster is louder, if your already half way there get cherry bomb extremes

4.6L engine with 2" going into the 3" Duraflow comming out before the passenger tire, i get way more sound out of one pipe rather than duals. Ive sat next to the same truck and drounded the sound of his true duals out.

ive got a stock cat going into a y pipe to 2-5in pipes that come out right after the ext cab passenger door. its real loud. my brother can hear me pull in the front of the neighborhood and we live a half mile from the front. its real annoying in cab when cruising around 65-75 on the hwy. but i have the 5.4. Im switching to flowmaster 40 or 44 series that go out the back beside the trailer hitch in the next month or two

I run a flowmaster vs magnaflow exhaust system and I will not change it cause I am happy with its resposive. I love my magna.

Straight pipe... Run it out the side though, the extra pipe and 3.5" tip seemed to get rid of the "typical straight pipe" rasp and made it sound golden

I run a 14" oval magnaflow with a tip in front of the rear tire. It's got just enough noise to let you know its not stock and you can hear it plenty when you get on it but cruising between 65-75 is just a nice mellow growl,no drone.

From what I've read and heard the magnaflow mufflers flow better and don't have the drone associated with flowmasters. That plus I think they don't sound good on my odd firing v6.
