Okay. So January 31st im making the move from wisconsin to florida. Im starting to get my truck ready for the drive. I know i need to do a oil change. I just put new tires on. Im gonna clean my throttle body and MAF sensor.. Is there anything else you guys can think of that will help mpgs and overall work on the truck. Thanks. 98'

check out your serpentine belt. It's not an expensive replacement and if you like you can replace it and put the old one in your travel stuff just in case. I assume you are taking a tool box, quart of oil, gallon of antifreeze, duct tape and bailing wire, fix a flat. Hey don't laugh. all of these items have saved my ***** on more than one occasion. You may want to consider checking out your radiator hoses. I know it's cold out right now but look em over anyhow. when was the last time your tranny had the fluid changed? check your tire pressure (including your spare), air filter for the sake of fuel economy. check the gear lube level in your diff.
Don't skimp on the snacks and sodas. you'll thank me later.
Be sure and post when you get here. And Welcome to Sunny Florida!

I just drove mine from Florida to Lake Tahoe CA for a move. These trucks love highways.

If it is a work related move save all your gas and lodging receipts for tax purposes. The 24 cents per mile doesn't cover actual fuel costs.

Wow, Winterhaven-out in the sticks and it can get hot there especially if you are not use to humidity. Grew up on the East coast and mostly in Fla.

I might be moving to Tarpon Springs, Fla-40min North East of Tampa.

Good Hog hunting there

Polk county is awesome. Say Hello to Grady Judd for me. My son lives over there. Winterhaven is a nice town. I don't know if you are into fishin' but central Florida has some of the biggest Black Bass in the country.
