Default First F150

Hello All,

I thought i better go on here and give you all a Howdy! I just bought my first truck and of course i got a ford! Its a 2003 Lariat FX4 5.4Lt 4 door.

Now as many people do i want to see if anyone could tell me what i should look out for as problems and things i should do to prevent them?
It currently makes this ticking sorta noise when its idling that sounds like maybe a belt issue. Is this common?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Yes It might be that or if it is just during the cold the exhaust manifolds will leak a little making a ticking noise when idling but once it warms up will be fine. Got any pics?

So my truck is a 2003 but it has a VHS player in the centre console. Is this normal seems super oldschool for the age.

Check and make sure that ticking noise isn't a loose plug. Torque to 28ft.lbs. no anti-seize.

My 03 has a VHS player in the center console with a pull down LCD screen for the rear seat passengers. Seemed old school to me when I got my truck 6 yrs ago too. Btw it was a Ford entertainment option

Nice looking truck!!!
