Finally did it
After 4 years I finally lowered my torsion bars to an even level. It has always sat high in the nose.
Last week I finally decided to go with a new set of Depo clear lense fogs lamps on my 98 F150. I've had this truck 4 years and finally it gets new lights. I have the Lightning clear headlights (for 2 years) and this spring added the clear/amber turn signals. Today my new lights came in. Other than having to remove the remove oil filter, it was a simple job. Total time less than 30 minutes and I think it changes the whole front end. Especially since I had the blackout covers for the first 3 years I owned this truck.
Best part was I had the factory plug in harness just sitting there. I plugged them into the new lights, then took out the old dash switch. I had a fog lamped switch, installed that, and everything worked perfectly. I didn't even have to install a fuse or a relay. Both were already in place. Very cool if you ask me. The only pic I could upload was just of all 4 lights on, with a yellowish filter. They are actually brite white. I'll upload a nice couple pics tomorrow when I get a image resizer program in the new computer. lol.

Here is a better picture. I like this color, as it doesn't show the dirt too badly. I haven't washed her since May. Not too shabby for Alaska.

That's a really good looking truck

That looks like a clean truck you have there. Specifically that I can't see any rocker rust. The color is sweet too!

TY Tackle. This truck is like new underneath also. No rust, nothing. I do have a small dent by the tail gate handle, but rather than repair it (right on the raise), I'm going to put on another tailgate I have that is perfect. It's already primed and ready for color.
The rockers and cross bars are rust-free. Cab corners, rear panels and front inner fenders are super clean. All in all, it's about as sound a truck as you can find for the year. The spare has never been on the ground either, but I'm going to change it out next year. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks. Buying the Depo's over the original factory style fog lamps was a no brainer. The factory styles were higher in cost and freight was not free. These are actually as well built as the originals. Actually the adjusting bushings are a better quality than the originals. Of course, newer plastics are stronger than they used to be, so that may be a big part of it. I really like the new lights. They do put out a much better light than what I had before. You'll enjoy your new lights when you get them. I did and do.
