It has a lot of rust but before I would decide I would want to know the condition of the engine, transmission, front end components and steering, and transfer case. You can afford to put on a new bed, fix the rust, and do maintenance like brakes, hoses, belts, plugs, etc. but a bad engine or trans will cost you more than you are paying for the truck.

Cgrim- just before i bought my dads 03 he had new rockers, cab corners and a new door put on. It cost him 3,000.00 .- add to that about 1,000.00 for a bed, plus(?$) for mechanicals- He should pay you to take it! Regards, Bear

Do not base the price on the odometer reading because it can be easily hack.

Who said you can only buy from rust belt?

Down south trucks are rust free.

Just myo, unless you are looking for a major project, dont buy anything with issues. There will be more than enough hidden issues on a 15 yr old truck to keep you busy, you dont need major ones too.

Vehicles cost $$ to maintain and repair. If it has not been cosmetically, it likely hasnt mechanically either.

No matter what you think, you will probably come out cheaper and enjoy it more buying something in better condition, even if you need to finance it, than a real junker.
