Default Factory Tech Valve Body Questions!

Has anyone done this mod to their transmission?
Its as simple as just taking out the old valve body and putting in the upgraded one?
Do I need a chip in order for it to be effective?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry Bud no input from this guy, there are a couple guys here that seem more knowledgeable on tranny's. Be patient.

Default Tranny Mod Info:

This outfit knows more about Ford transmissions than almost anyone else:

http://www.becontrols.com/index.htm

If you want to install a valve-body kit, these guys have what you want and will provide you with all the info you need to make the change.

You may be better off spending the bucks and getting the Baumannator TCS transmission controller. It'll get you most of the performance benefits of a valve-body kit without ever having to open the tran. Take a look at it on the Baumann site.

changing the valvebody is just a change, you do not need a tune, but contact Alan at dirtydog performance. His quality is better, he hand builds his own convertors, and does a better quality job than bauman. Bauman is great if you want to run a 4R70W with an EEC-IV car or a carb'd application.

So if I get the Valve Body and just install it everything will be fine. But if I want to control when my truck shifts then I should look into a controller. Correct?

BTW I was going to follow this write up
http://www.fordf150.net/howto/trannyvalvebody.php

And I have 113k on my truck this wont damage my tranny in any way will it?

it wont hurt the transmission, but why do you want to control your shifts? the EEC is more consistant and wont do the wrong thing.

Hey guys I just bought an edge evolution controller yesterday for $185!! So I have that part done. And I'll probably do the valve body over the summer.

P.S The evolution is badass. Whole different truck.

How did you manage to find the Evolution for $185? That's a great deal!

I always wanted to use one of these but never got around to ordering one but for that price

How does it drive?

Milage... Power.. Shifting.. towing... Overall Performance?
