1999 to 2004 has a mass recall in states they have road icing due to the fact the de-icing agents cause the fuel tank straps to corrode and break.

 

whats a de-icing agent ?

 

I didn't know about the recall, my straps broke, fell off and tank fell. Ford will not cover a loaner vehicle in the recall, I got lucky, when my tank fell it put a bi hole in the tank, glad it wasn't major!! They told me they would try to get it fixed asap, but didn't give me a time frame, and had to pay for the tow. They will reimburse me, supposedly. We shall see, Had a FULL tank of gas, now my driveway has it. Wonder if they will replace that too!!!

how do we find a list of which states it covers?
they puttin them on for free at a ford dealer?

 

They should be and I will have to look into it myself because south dakota should be covered and that's where I live

ya there is and so far mine are fine

 

im gona have to check mine out, living in NJ the roads get covered in salt and **** every winter non stop, thinking it should be covered here
truck spent its whole life in NY and NJ
