Default F150 mpg

Hey guys im looking at F150's and mustangs as a first car/truck. It will be a DD so im a little worried about MPG. My 8k price range limits me to 2004 vehicles and under.

I don't want to know what the factory says you get i can look that up. I would just like to know what YOU get gas mialage wise and what kind of driving you do. Like highway, city, even, highway some city, city some highway, ECT. Also wanna know what size engine you have, V6 or V8.

I have a 2005 F150, 4.2L V6. Bought the truck mid June for $8,500.
So far I've driven 1645 miles, about 20% of that being freeway driving.
Living in the Alabama summer, the A/C is on constantly.
MPG so far for all those miles is 12.6. It's much worse than I thought I would get on the truck.

1999 5.4 4x4 with k&n cai, synthetic oil and tonneu cover but otherwise standard. I was getting 16.5 roughly, but in the heat of the summer with the a/c on all the time it's down to 15.6 with pretty much only highway driving. My sct tuner should arrive tomorrow, so we will see if that makes any difference.
