Default Extra part in my pan!

This past weekend I changed the filter in the transmission of my '03 F150. I found a plastic thing with a o-ring on it in the bottom of the pan. After MUCH inspection....it was obvious it did not come from my trans...Does anyone know what it is! It looked like a small spinning top....about 2 inches tall and 3/4 inches thick.

Thanks Collin. Although it did not fit in the fill tube, it would probably fit in the fill tube hole in the trans housing. again thanks!

Default Fill Tube Plug:

That plastic gimmick is the plug used to temporarily fill the hole in the tranny during manufacturing. Final assembly has the fill tube pushed into the hole and the plug is pushed into the pan....it's a means to simplify the manufacturing process and reduce costs. It should just be discarded at the first filter change.

Bart how dare you post a question on this site without spending a half hour searching the archives of the all mighty F150 Forum. Better you try wording your search several different ways instead of taking up someones precious few seconds to give you a answer!

Hey I didn't mean to come off as a dick. I personally search before posting and 90% of the time I find it in the first 5 mins. Not like it matters tho. either way the problem is solved
