Default exhaust

okay soo i want to change my exhaust up again..i`ve had a 40 series dual straight out the back, side exit magnaflow all 3inch, then now i have a flowmaster super 10 side exit... welll i want it louder... and only way i see that with keeping my 4 cats is straight piping it... and my question is... is anyone running 3inch from cats back to 4inch tips? or 2.5 to 4inch tips? i wanna hear it first... the only thing stopping me is the cackle u get from straight piping it... i want it reallly throaty....soo if any one has that speak up plz!!! and the side exit is forsale u guy`s cost 150 with tips no shipping.

im torn between 2.5 and 3.... i know i lose power with 3inch but running 35s with 3.31 gears i dont think it would matter at this point haha.. but i would really like to hear some straight piped trucks... i plan on running them out the back at 45s..

I have 2.5 true dual straights with all four cats still on and it's to quiet for me. Soon as I can The rear 2 cats are coming off. Cost me 220 for this exhaust and prolly 40 more to cut The cats off. My phone is the only way to record sound and it probably not good quality but I'll try tommarow and see what it does. If it turns out good I'll post up a video

2.5" would be the max size for duals, just not good on the motor to not have some scavenging. The different in size between the two won't make a large difference in sound. Straights might be loud enough, but it'll still sound like straights and not have the tone. Take off the rear two cats and put the muffler of your choice and it should be loud enough.

I don't mean to thread steal here but I have the same problem with my flowmasters. How do you take all the cats of without throwing a TC?

if you dont rly want the crackle then stright pipes are not your best option, however it is the cheapest by far. i have 2 1/2 pipe with 6 inch tips and itll pop and crack real good when i get on it. my buddy took off the rear cats with two flowmaster 10s and i think its one of the best sounding trucks ive heard. loud and throaty

^^^if you remove only the back 2 cats a code wont come up

Remove 2 of the cats if you want it louder don't waste your time goings straight pipe you wont be happy. If that still isn't loud enough for you remove all the cats unless you have to worry about emitions.
