What's everyone's opinion on exhaust for the 5.4l v8?

I am going with a cut-out and a Flowmaster dumped. Not really into exhaust pipes sticking out.
A buddy of mine has the same on his Chevy and it sounds really mean!
The other cool thing is, a flange can be put over the cut-out for inspections and the actual work for it all doesn't cost more than $200.
I plan on having this done this Saturday, I will post a video...

I'm thinking of just going straight pipe till I get a inspection ticket, but that might be a bit to loud.
