try flo-pro twisters! there not a glass pack but they are a bullet style muffler. and the sound stays the same for the life of the exhaust because theres no glass packing to wear out. if u do want a glass pack bullet/bottle muffler then check out magna flow or even cherry bombs. theres lots of glass packs to choose from ans as long as there the same length they all sound pretty close to the same. as for size.. shorter the bullet the louder they are. go with whatever size pipe you want to run. stock is 2.5''

he didnt ask about a muffler... and the flowmasters sound like tin and wear out quicker then any muffler we installed at our exhaust shop. we stopped stocking them just for that reason. and just a little heads up to anyone running a flowmaster(besides the outlaw series) if u hear a rattle and you exhaust sound different its because the baffles have let go in the muffler and it needs to be replaced. seen it happen lots! cheers

Thanks for the warning. I went to the Flowmaster after a glass pack. Didn't pay anything for it or the install cause someone just randomly gave me a gift card at a muffler shop that was about to expire cause they didn't have a truck at the time. I was planning on keeping this until I swap out for Cummins 4BT diesel, gut my old glass pack or just make a simple tube style single chamber (empty of course) just so I can say I have a single chamber to pass the diesel visual inspection.

I'd try and see if someone is selling a used glasspak and then just gut it. Make sure you go with a tip, that's where a lot of the noise is. haha

Hm good info! Quick side question though dont want to stray away from the main topic for too long but right now I have a thrushh turbo muffler on my 4.2 right now and it just ends at the muffler.,should I just suck it up and have the pipes finished being ran to the back or could I just get a dump pipe? Basically my question is which one would give me a little more sound if any?

what happens when you dont run tail pipes(dumped or not) the exhaust just gets blowen all over everything under your truck and floats up around everything. the condensation in the exhaust fumes start to rust everything. and if its at all cold where u live it will be that much worse. at the very least i would just run a peice of pipe out the side before the wheel. that would be the cheapest. as for sound...i prefer running pipe up and over the axle cause it sounds better. and running it in front of the wheel can rust the back wheel over time. thats y ford stopped doing that after only one year (97) and then ran it over the axle and behind the tire.

Thanks for the reply man my stock set up ran out before the rear wheel and I hated the look of it. I could probably get the pipes finished around here for fairly cheap. Thanks for the info I didnt know theexhaust fimes caused rust!
