Default Engine turns over with key in accessory position

Before the key is even in the accessory position the engine starts to turn over, not to mention many other electrical issues.
I was hoping that somebody might be able to help.
Thanks in advance.

Do you find moisture in the driver's footwell after rain or washing? If so, your GEM module has likely gotten wet and is malfunctioning. It controls a whole lot of the electrical circuits in the truck, and when it gets wet weird stuff starts happening: Truck starting on its own, windows not working, instrument cluster going wonky, locks freaking out...
(Yeah, "wonky" and "freaking out" are technical terms.)
..

Yeah at this point i'm good with the terms 'wonky' and 'freaking out' especially after all the F bombs I've thrown at this ol girl.
Your reply is just what I've been hoping for cuz it makes perfect sense!
EVERY time it rains i have issues, my concern now is a good remedy.
For a couple yrs now ive not been able to scan the OBD, the relays are starting to get warm and i get that electrical smell, truck runs like crap and like you said alot of crazy stuff happening with the electrical!
My truck suffers from the victorious windshield leak that I've researched so much about, I've always assumed that to be the culprit and now with your reply i know what i got to do. BUT, i hate to replace the 'gem' and not have the windshield fixed.
Thanks for your reply brother, it makes perfect sense.
THANK YOU!

You're quite welcome. Yes, fix the leak, then pull the GEM, seal it in a Ziplock bag with a few cups of rice, then clean all the connectors before re-installing. If the vehicle isn't garaged, I'd consider disconnecting the battery when it's not being driven, since as I mentioned, trucks have been known to start cranking on their own, only stopping once the battery cable's been pulled. Good luck with the fix (es).

Well ive got to pick your brain about this one, if you don't mind.
Lately, when it's damp and moist out ive also noticed that sometimes when i push the clutch in,usually when im in first gear, i hear a really loud screatching sound coming from the transmission which usually goes away once i get going but in regards to your reply could that sound be coming from the starter trying to engage while the truck is running, i know it sounds crazy but i wouldn't be surprised. I sure would like to know what your thoughts are, thank you very much and Happy Easter!

That sounds more like a bad/failing throwout bearing, but would have little to do with humidity or moisture.

Throwout bearing is easy. Fixing that windshield leak could be simple, or not. I'd investigate before getting rid of the truck unless you're just looking for an excuse.

I'm gonna price a new windshield, it definitely needs one so that should remedy the leaks, as far as the concentric slave cylinder goes i just wish they would have designed it on the outside of the transmission, ha ha, eventually it's going to give way and I'll be stranded. Ive been tending to this baby of mine since it was in diapers, bought it with 2500 miles on it, dam thing runs pretty good considering.
I would much rather keep er going than have a payment!
Hey thanks for all your help!
