There's no way to know why he has not returned, or if he merely did not set up to get email replies, doesn't know how to use his history, or why he has not found his way back. He has virtually no profile. Took me ages to half way negotiate this site, and am still learning - and I was a YahOops "power user" and ran may lists.

Odds are at least 49:1 he is not from Calif, but it would be an issue here. Saleen can do it but the have a special license to certify their work.

CAlif will check VIN, in the computer for displacement / etc, hood and door stickers. VIN gives engine size. Hood stickers often do too.

Now for motorcycles they do or did allow a spare engine or two, but they watch engine serial numbers on those. F150's would only have to use a *very similar* engine.

The op seems to be a one time poster who posted, waited an hours for enlightenment, that left and hasn't checked back. Did a California blackout cause an interruption in their internet for the last couple of days?

My guess regarding CA's laws regarding engines, emissions etc. is they will only get more stringent, and will do so very quickly, as there will be No more ICE's sold in CA in the near future, IAW the Gov's executive order, and the legislators are looking at codifying it into state law. In any regard, a Gov's executive order, is the law as of now, it could change, but I wouldn't hold my breath! This may be part of the reason NHRA 's HQ IS NO LONGER in CA....just guessing.

Don’t overthink these things. As long as the emissions equipment is functioning properly, there is no overburden and extra smog making. These trucks pass the same emissions standards for the time just to be available for sale on a car lot.

Both Tritons that year were LEV rated, so there’s no such thing as “make less smog” here.
