Default Engine shuts off????

OK guys I need some help....

I have a 01 f-150-4.2L-2wd

OK first I started my truck one day after work and my check engine light was on...I thought wow this is not right I just spent $900 fixing a cam sensor and other problems..well long story short the mechanic who did the work used his scanner to read the code...ok now back to the day I got off work and the check engine light was on...I went to autozone "yea I know" but anyway, my truck did not reconize that the scanner was plugged in...I thought what the bleep. ok the mechanic could read my codes a week eariler but It doesn't work now..so next when i went to work I plugged my scanner into it and same prob....

ok to the real problem...I have noticed since the night my check engine light came on, when I put my truck into reverse, stop, put into drive to go the engine cuts off...what is weird I have no problem at all with the truck besides this cut off when put into drive..it is like its not getting enough fuel to stay engaged.. well if anyone could help It would be nice.

Have you taken it back to the mechanic to see if they can figure it out?
How long after you spent the $900 did this new problem occur? And could it be related to the work that was done?

Remember, these things are nothing more then a computer with a thousand sensors. As for the code scanner not working, check your fuses. On my 5.4 L 01, fuse #3 runs the data link connector, cigar lighter, and remote entry. As for the cutting out. First check your fuel relays, and fuses. Relays are about $5.00 each, i carry two at all times. Just check all your fuses and relays. Tip check to make sure i am correct, but most vehicles, the horn relay is the same as all others, if your rig is that way, push the horn, if it works, use that relay to test others, Bad relay, buy extra. If you are able to get the scanner connector working, send me the code. I will look up trouble shooting and repair, in my service DVD.

I did some research on this issue. If all relays and fuses are good. There are several test to be done. You would have to get a manual for sensor location etc, but they say to test the (IAC) idle air control system, (MAS) Mass airflow Sensor, Seconday ignition syatem, Fuel system, Exhaust system, and PVC system. Pretty much teh truck. LOL The system it lists as a reason for these tests, is:
For engine now starts but stalls in PARK or NEUTRAL:
If engine will start and run normally at part throttle, check Idle Air Control
Etc. I would venture toward the MAS and IAC sensors. I do beleive they are located in the intake tube. I could send you the testing values, but that would be a lot of typing, and they are in ford lanquage.
