Got the engine all done, fired up and a couple minutes later the vgt removed itself..im just happy it started

that's what happens when in a hurry. Of course the bracket is only sold with a new vgt solenoid..200 dollars

Varaible geometry turbo
To my understanding, the vanes adjust (imagine opening/closing vents in your truck) to give precise control of boost
