I'd go with the bigger setup. I always go with the most powerful fan I can. I've been thinking of grabbing my Mark8 fan and using that with a controller

Hmm, I still have yet to research the difference between the two different thermostat controller types. I did have the Mark 8 on my foxbody mustang with a DCC controller. It had an adjustable range for 160, 180 and 190*. The single stage is probably just stuck at 180, which could be a tad cold for these trucks but ok. (I don't know, havent looked into it yet)It was flawless when the car was stock and when it had the new heads, cam and intake. It still kept the car cool with a 70mm turbo, tfs heads and systemax intake. As far as I know the Mark8 fan is still the highest flowing junkyard fan AT 5000 cfm but it does draw a lot of amps. I'm going to set mine up with a 30 amp relay and a different, less junky, fan controller.

I have no idea on a fan controller. I've been out of the car hobby for a while now. I'd search the mustang forums and see what the boosted and turbo foxbody guys are doing. Those cars - especially turbo have serious cooling demands. I didn't use a shroud because it wouldnt fit on my fox so I could'nt tell you

Actually I think he's referring to the factory shrould around the mark fan. I had one on my nitrous fox body too, I had to upgrade the alternator th the 3g set-up to keep up with it. But it did work great! I've been thinking about doing the same on my truck too. I also thought about fans from an 01 Impala. They are a double fan set-up, and pulled air nicely on my old Dodge Ram...

I think I'm gonna do the Mark VIII fan on mine. I'm pretty sure it will clear the shroud, and will pull plenty of air. Which controller would you reccomend?
