I recently recieved a 97 F150 4.6L
The passenger side window works fine but my driver side window does not.
I removed the door panel and used my test light to check for power on the back of the switch.
Had power on all wires, both up and down.
Then I checked for power on the wires coming from the motor on the right side and had power going up (can also hear the motor engage) but when I push down I have no power.
Any suggestions, sorry if this is posted somewhere else.
This will be my first post.
My ‘97 had the same issue and I determined it to be a GEM issue.
Disconnect the two wires from the window motor and apply 12V & ground to them, then reverse the wires. Did the window go up/down? If so the motor is fine and the one touch down circuit is the issue. I chose the OTD work-around rather than replacing the GEM. Yeah I have to hold my finger on the down button but I’m fine with that.
Watch this video.
I can tired power to motor it worked up and down even tried the bypass with no luck. I already tried a used GEM, Interior fuse box, and switch even tried a new switch which worked passengers side window backwards. New motor and regulator already installed by a shop. tried 3 different used relay's. Please help
I tried bypassing the gem as described in the video even tried both tan with blue striped all it did was make the relay click no movement on the window
I have switch with oem part number that came with my 97 F-150 I plan to purchase a new one seems rockauto sold me the wrong part. Switch currently installed is used after I rule that out I may say enough and buy new ac compressor which I could have saved a ton of money if I did that originally

After the correct bypass the one-touch-down relay shouldn’t click. I don’t get a click out of mine.

It's not the one touch relay that's clicking it's the accessories relay that goes with the dome light flickering. I pulled the one touch down relay to change it and it wasn't clicking
I suspect that I have a ground problem somewhere. As the dome light works off a normally open switch for ground. I was an electrician for 20 year's so I understand the bypass better than most. But if it's a ground issue the bypass won't be useful
