Default Door chime delete?

Hi. I searched the forum and tried to disconnect the key in chime from my '98 F150. I pulled the black and pink wire from the ignition switch and as I did so, the chime quit. I put heat shrink over the connector and put it back up in the housing. Put the truck together, put the key back in and the chime still works! What did i do wrong? I'm pretty sure I didn't pinch the wire. It is just a ground, correct? Thx for the help.

if you want to delete/remove the chime for all warnings it is inside the GEM, under the dash behind the fuse box, remove it and replace it with a 1/4 watt 100 ohm resistor.

No such fuse. You have two options, cut a wire or pull the chime out if the gem.
