Default Don't recommend BBk Ceramic headers

5 Years ago i put BBK ceramic shortys on my truck, loved them looked great made my exhaust really throaty. I've since then retired that truck just this past year to farm/work truck. It started to get exhaust tick. And even tho i hardly drive it, when i do that tick drives me insane!!! When i went to check what was the cause this is what i found. Even tho the drive side looks O.K everywhere it has cracks everywhere there is rust.

Thats a far cry from this just 5 short years ago

I will say tho stage 8 locking fasteners A+, Locking lobes came right off, and was able to break all the bolts loose with a 12pt wrench. After the lobes came off they knocked the bit of corrosion off the head was still great shape.

And on that note if anyone has some old manifolds they dont want! ill take em lol Don't wanna spend 200$ on manifolds/heads for farm truck.

A lot of after market exhausts use a cheaper grade of metal than factory.

Ya they relied on the ceramic coating but the ceramic coating must not have been up to par. I've read where few ppl bought them then sent them out to be re-coated because they didn't like how it looked and got 10+year then. When i got them the coating seemed to be even and all over. Shouldn't have to pay to re-coat something that's coated from a manufacture i thought was reputable.
Not impressed

Have you sent BBK some pictures?
They may say that you're beyond any warranty but THAT kind of deterioration should never occur in 5 years. I'd hope they'd be concerned with their reputation.
My JBA shorties were installed on my Mustang back in 1994 and they still look better than those.

I know right? I deal with ceramics at work so the concept of ceramic coated made sense.
