disc break conversion

Default disc break conversion

My truck.has drum brakes I.just bought a new axle with.disc it has everything can anybody think if anything else I.need or have to do to make it work

I believe you need the brake booster and myster cylinder as well.

Ive been.told.that u dont need it.but not sure.because iveheard both

You dont actually need the booster. The newer disc booster has less helping vacuum. Gives a better pedal feel. You do how ever need a master as the front piston is a different size. If you dont change the master you do need to remove the drum pressure control valve that is screwed into the master. It is closest to the booster on the left side when looking at it. You will also need new emergency brake cables.

Luckily it has the ebrake cables attached

They abs unit is the proportion valve. You dont need to bypass anything. Just replace the master with one from a 4wheel disc truck and assemble and bleed the brakes.

Just wanted to.say thanx I replaced master cylinder brakes and axle work great even.got lucky didnt have to bleed brakes alot
