Default Disabling ABS?

First off, I have a 98 F-250, light duty. It really is just a heaver version of a 150.

The ABS stinks. Even on dry roads, if you are slightly heavy on the brakes the ABS kicks in. When it does it feels like I loose almost all braking.

How can I disable the ABS?

There should be a wiring harness coming in the cab under the backseat I would assume. Just unplug the pig tails and your ABS will be gone, but throw a CEL.

Im not 100% sure on the exact location.. you should probably google it. If you want to get real hardcore with it you can just take the axles out and take the ABS ring off.

If you unplug either the RABS valve underneath the master cylinder if you have that or if you have 4WABS unplug the HCU and it'll act like a regular brake system.

ABS brakes help you stop faster and stay in control, leave them!

If they're not working right and you don't want to fix them you're better off without them. Just pump the brakes like in the old days.

Nothing wrong with non ABS, people have driven for years and years without it. Just means you have to brake smarter.

I did unplug the one at the bottom of the master cylinder. Of course the ABS light came on, which I expected, but the Brake light also came on. I need another solution.

It's raining now but I need to try the ABS fuse. I can deal with the idiot light.

The one at the bottom of the master cylinder is the brake fluid level switch that's why that happened. The RABS valve is separate from the master cylinder it's a couple inches below it and the lines run from the cylinder to it and then to the rear, just unplug the electrical connector. If you have 4-wheel abs you'll see the HCU if you follow the lines from the master cylinder, it's got like 2 going in and 4 going out, same with it, just unplug the connector.
