02 supercrew has the digital heater in it, i noticed floor botton goes to defrost, vent botton works to vent ac works as well, but floor option does not and heat is not very warm, just wonderinf if anyone has seen this b4 and it b the digital head unit bad?

 

My climate control is wack too. Mine actually gets hot to the touch when in use... I've been told mine is bad and it's $250 used IF you can find a new 1, or $600 new from Ford... this is just what I've been told when I thought my a/c was bad because it began blowing through the vents.. I've had other odd issues with my digital climate control... but $600 is crazy.

 

If i recall correctly, the newer Crown Victorias and Grand Marquis share the same automatic climate control unit.. and those cars are a dime a dozen in the junkyard..

 

Oh wow they're really that expensive!? I pulled an auto unit from a 98 crown vic lx to swap with mine because I a stick button, I popped the face off to swap a couple light bulbs out and my button freed up then so i just left it in lol so now i have this spare one just sitting in the garage

 

My max a/c was only blowing out of the defrost vents. I took the unit out and changed the rubber o-rings out in it and it fixed mine. May be worth a try before you go buy another unit. O-rings are only $2 at tractor supply. If you search thread "fixed mt eatc today " there are step by step instructions and a few pictures. Its super easy to do and best of all only cost $2.

I just did the o-ring repair on mine. Was going from defrost to vent at random. Hardest part was getting the o-ring at Ace. I have some extras coming in the mail if anyone has a hard time locating. It's a 007 or #61 o-ring.

 

can you guys upload a pic of the digital thermostat, I've never seen the digital one in our year trucks. can I swap from a regular one to a digital one?
