Default Diff swap and changing gears

I have a 2001 SCAB 4.6 2WD running 285/75R16 (32.8") with 8.8 / 3.08 open diff, yeah a real turd!
But I finally found a shop over here that can redo my rear end, since this is much too involved for a weekend mechanic like myself.

For the gears I finally decided to go with 4.10 because it's my dailydriver and the commute is mainly highway.

But what brand should I choose for ring & ring & pinion?
Motive
Yukon
Ford Racing

For the diff I decided to go with a Eaton Truetrac 913A561 or should I pick different brand/type?

Thanks guys!

You can't go wrong with any of those. The Eaton is a really good choice there too.

I recently had this dilemma when I had a Eaton Detroit TrueTrac and 4.56 gears installed. The guys at the shop where I had the diff worked on said that they have used all the brands and that lately they have had the best luck with Motive. Don't shoot the messenger; just letting you know what they experienced and passed along to me. Best of luck which ever route you choose.

Sounds good, I tend to Motive after reading a couple other pages...

You will just swap the Pinion & Ring Gear without replacing the seals, axle bearing, differential bearing and shim? It's recommended to replace them including the RABS sensor if 2 wheel ABS.

Why do you want to upgrade to 4.10 if you use it mainly in a highway? It will increase your fuel consumption and put more load on your engine. There is a huge difference between 3.08 and 3.31 in pulling capability.

Bigger is not always Better.

Just my 2 cent's on this.
You most definitely won't loose mpg on the hiway going to the 4.10 gears. I did exactly that same thing on my 2001 screw 4.6 2wd 20" rims 33" tires. I went from 3.55 to 4.30 but always just say 4.10 to avoid people telling me there is no such gear lol.
Anyways my point is that you will have better mpg and more power...especially since you went up in tire size. In fact engine load actually drops a few % not increases as last post said.
My range went up about 35-45 miles per tank and the truck drives like it should...no more hunting for gears on hills.
However if your gonna drive it like a **** then your mpg will go down the crapper.
Going 70mph my rpm are 2100 with 4.30 but my foot is less in the throttle to do it now than 70 mph with the 3.55
You'll be a little less than that for rpm.
Spend the extra cash and do the proper rebuild....it's worth the money for the Peace of Mind

No... just no. There is such a thing as too big but 33s and 4.10s are just a step above a stock setup and 3.73s.

I have had experience with 4 sets (all 3.55's on 8.8's) of Ford Racing R&P's. All 4 were perfect in every way. I would use them for anything with no reservations whatsoever.
