I bought my 97 f150 silver with a decal on side but its fading and cracking how can I take off carefully and will it look bad under sticker

Heat gun and razor blade, then use paint thinner or mineral spirits to get any leftover glue off

 

Paint thinner won't take paint off truck? And how much is a heat laser?

If it's been on a long time, the rest of the paint may be faded. Only one way to find out.

 

Heat gun is $20-40 at sears or menards or Lowes. Handy for lots of projects.

It shouldn't take the paint off, it didn't take it off on mine, I used 3m adhesive remover, that didn't work so I had paint thinner and I diluted it with water. And I'm not sure how much the heat gun is I still had one from when I installed floors
