Default Dead truck...

Drove my truck on 4 different small trips this morning. Walk out to go to work and my truck won't start, not even clicking the starter. Power everything works, as soon as I turn the key everything cuts off. Release key, everything powers back on. I don't really know what to look for on something like this, anyone ever fix an issue like this or ideas where to start? T.I.A

Do you have the second key? If so, try that!

Replace the solenoid on the firewall, it's easy and costs about 20 bucks.

Had this happen with mine. Make sure your battery posts and terminals are clean

looking at the manual, I see they remove the starter and separate the solenoid from it, replace & reinstall. Is this the correct process, or is there something on the firewall that I am missing?

It's a little box on the firewall close to the battery, it's held on by a couple sheet metal screws I believe. I guess the correct name is a starter relay. My truck did tge exact same thing as yours about a year ago and I fought with the starter and looked for bad battery cables when it was just a 5 minute job the whole time.

you guys were 100% correct. Starter solenoid on firewall was faulty. Swapped it in 4 minutes and cranked right up. you guys are the best and why i always come here first for my truck concerns! (paid $12, with 1 year warranty from autozone).
