Dashlights not working
Hey gang, sometime over the summer my dashlights quit. Didn't notice until recently with the time change and winter. This is not my daily driver. I checked my fuses, had blown the 20a for the cigar lighter with a phone charger. (#3) Replaced it today but dash lights still out tonight. Everything is stock, haven't added or replaced anything. It is your basic 2002 F150 workhorse, no options. Any ideas?

The cluster gauge lights. The radio light is on, if I open the door the "door ajar" comes on as well as all the other indicators like high beam. When I roll the dimmer all the way it turns on the overhead light. I checked the tail lights last night, the tag bulb is out, I'd read on here somewhere that there is a safety feature of dashlights not working if taillights were out. Thanks for any input for me.

I don't think your tail lights are part of your cluster lights cuz my cluster gauge lights are out also but my tail lights still work I've been told that odds are all the lights didn't burn out at once so its probably a connector back there I believe there are 3 there so your dash would have to be removed

I'm very mechanically inclined but I don't even want to take my dash apart but once I get a voltmeter I will probably give it a shot what I'm using for now is a pair of "mood lights" from advanced auto so I can see my dash

My dash lights were out as well and I just spent the past Sunday working on it. I had 4/5 out. It's pretty simple to take it apart. First you take off the panel in front of your radio. Disconnect 4wd switch and air bag if equipped. Air bag must be unbolted. The dash has about 11 or 12 screws including 3 above the steering wheel. The only other difficult parts are disconnecting the light switches. To do this I pulled the panel forward and pushed the tab to break it loose. After everything is off you disconnect the 3 harnesses and the gear indicator (you squeeze the sides and pull down) and the lights are right there clearly labeled. 5 of em. Hope this helps.
