dash cup holder stuck

The connection is for the ashtray light. I just was looking at mine and tapped off of that wire for power for my led cup holder mod. ..

Same problem on my 03. Whatever spring or latch that holds the sliding cup holder in and allows it to pop back out is broken/missing. The PO installed a Parrot Bluetooth hands free phone thing right above the cup holder so taking it apart to fix will be interesting. The same thing happened in my 04 F150 and it was a completely different design!!

I wonder what fuse protects that circuit...thinking of tapping into that connector to power a cb

you guys are lucky my cigarette lighter door broke and i am still trying to figure out ways to fix it.

It is only a 5A fuse on that circut (I know because I had to replace it recently)

There's not near enough power through that to power a cb. It barely powered 2 big led strips. A few small ones in the ash tray and lighter cubby are fine, but the long ones under my dash were originally on there and I finally removed them and rewired those to a switch. Plus your headlights have to be on for it to get power.

Coolest option for that wire by far is this though.

Used epoxy and a piece of plastic to reinforce the broken lever on the left side of the door. Looking for a replacement door at salvage yard, along with cup holder.

The wires are for a small light. I don't know what size the light is, but it's small. My light is shot and I'm going to replace it with a LED like BrowningScrew did on his and it looks great. By the way, I had to go to the junk yard to find a spring for mine. Good luck!

Some parts are interchangeable with an Explorer of the same model.

I had the same issue,I pulled it out to wire lights up and the metal rail was bent,I bent it back and it works fine now
