Hello Everyone. I've not been able to find an answer to my question on other sites, so I've come here looking for help.

Since day 1 my cruise has not worked since I've owned my truck. I replaced the switch on the master cylinder, and also both fuses (one of which was blown) in the recall harness assembly.

Now, when I am driving my Cruise light will come on when I press it, but the cruise will only hold momentarily about 10 seconds, then release.

I tried the self test before, apparently doing it wrong. I found the exact procedure from Ford, and these are my results:

After pressing the "ON" button, I get one flash. After pressing any of the other buttons in the correct sequence of "Resume, Coast, Set/Accel" I dont get any other flashes at all. Also no fashes at the end, only the one flash after I press the ON button.

What exactly does this mean if nothing else is occuring in this circuit?

The wiring diagram should help if I can understand what exactly to look for, Im not much of a wiring kind of guy. If I know what to look for in the scheme of things then that will be a huge help. Thank you.

Does the fact that my Horn sounds very weak tie into this equation? Its about equal to a clown horn.

I was afraid of that. I still need to take a look behind the steering wheel and make sure all the connections are tight. Perhaps that is causing the problem...?

Could be, you don't hear about cruise controls problem very often, and when there is it is usually in the steering wheel.
