COP missing / jolting, HELP!
I have had the coil misfire for over a year now trying to get it to throw a code, no such luck under any driving style. I have a 5 speed in my 03 FX4 4.6 any gear, any speed has yet to get it. Have replaced with aftermarket plugs in the past, but am shopping a fresh set now. Has anyone used the Accel yellow supercoils?

Or you can just test the coils before dropping silly amounts of cash for replacing all the coils. Good ones should 1.8 -1.9 ohms. You can also clean them up as described in this video too.
Cost: hr time and a multi-meter

Yea, if it indeed missing because of a coil and at all rpms, take it for a drive, some where safe and give it hell. Onece you get up to about 45/50 floor it and watch for a blinking CEL. It'll blink 6 times then shut off..DTC is now recorded into the KAM. Scan it, find the cylinder that's missing and immediately disconnect the injector for that cylinder.
That way, you can drive it without melting your converters shut.
If you need coils, get at least OEM spec. That would be Motorcraft or Vista-pro (Visteons).

I can't wait to get that new engine installed, still need to know which flywheel to use: the 98' or the 03'. I'm going to guess the 03' because if any changes were made, they'd probably be on the back of the 03' engine or crankshaft and I don't imagine the tranny being any different. The 98' E4OD should fit an 03' engine just wondering about that flywheel.
