Default Coolant Leak

Good morning. So yesterday I ran to the store and came out to find a 5 foot puddle of antifreeze directly under where the passenger would sit. I have fluid left in the reservoir so I made it back home. After looking around it seems it's coming from the passenger side firewall. Close to where the right foot of the passenger would be. The fluid is running down the heat shield from the exhaust manifold and eventually falling where the transmission cross member is. The engine compartment is clean and no sign of coolant. The side location is pretty much where the F150 side emblem is at.

There is an awful coolant smell. And a steady stream of liquid when the engine is on. But takes a couple mins for the leak to start once the engine has been turned on and continues to drip for a few minutes when it's turned off. AC is still nice and cold. Tried the heat at full blast and went fine with no problems.

Any ideas where I should look? Bad heater core? It's hard to find the leak with the battery and AC in that same location but I am 90% sure it's coming from near the firewall.

Check both heater hoses and connections to heater core.

Fill the system up with water and get it up to temp and physically check for leaks. Also check to see if coolant is under your intake manifold. Look behind your alternator.

Heater core is done. $1000 to fix. That was actually the least of the problems.

Heater core can be done with average mechanical experience. Core itself cost less than $50. If you lived close to me I would do it for $250 labor. You could probably find someone in your area too.
