Could you do this mod in a truck with the 4w drive shifter on the floor?

That looks absolutely brilliant!
I have had my eyes peeled for an expedition console like that on ebay, but every one that i've seen has been tan, and I have the same interior color as you... When I finally get a hold of one I would like to run the a/c through the console so I can put an amp inside with my Sirius tuner and not worry about overheating. I also plan to make an iPad mount probably from fiberglass to sit where your trailer control is... You have re-motivated me!

LOVE IT!! I would've never thought of doing that....but now i think i might be changing some things around Wonder if it's big enough under there for a nice little speaker setup. My old Denali had a badass bass speaker and amp in the center console. It sounded GREAT for a stock system. Something to think about now.....

I just picked up my center console today. I was lucky and I found it with all the mounting brackets. and I have it installed. I don't have a passenger seat as of right now though.

My question is, does it seem as though the bottom front part of the console seem to not touch the carpet. Also did you use the stock lower black piece out of your truck or out of the expedition?

My truck is a 99 and I actually found a 99 expedition console. But for some reason with the factory mounting brackets it doesnt touch the carpet. You probably wouldnt notice unless I told you but bolts are flush with the floor so I dont get whats going on.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow for you guys.

Man... that looks real good... I was eye-balling some Expedition consoles at the U-Pull-It but they needed some work (plus I would have to find clean buckets)... I even sat in a nasty wrecked tore up interior Exped. just to see if I could imagine it as sitting in my truck...

I had wrote it off but after seeing your install, there goes the ol' brain again with my crazy thoughts...

Nice Job - exactly what Ford SHOULD have done! You still can add a slot for an iPod (since your aftermarket stereo may have USB). Thanks for the inspiration for my next trip to Pull-a-Part! I have the 60/40 seat, but I'll look at a "shortened" console (maybe up to the cup holder - or whatever fits with the seat as forward as possible).
