Default connector for visor/HL

I am trying to install a visor equipped with an illuminated visor and HL in my truck that didn't come equipped with it. My thoughts, like with other options, that Ford would have used the same electrical harness with the connector even in vehicles that didn't have the illuminated mirrors, just in case they wanted them later and it saves the manufacturer from having multiple harnesses to install.. I removed the stock visor and felt around in the hole but couldn't feel any connector. The hole is too small for me to get a mirror into. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Do you think its likely there is a connector up there somewhere? If so, any suggestions for finding it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.. thanks

Geoff

Run your own wires through up the pillar.

Nope. I did the same mod on mine. I have the female side of the connectors if you need them.

I would run a seperate power wire, the overhead doesn't hold much amperage. Halogens pull quite a bit of current.

Your welcome.

when you did run your own wires, did you go from the bottom up or the top down? In either case, did you find the wire will follow the correct path to the opening or did you have manipulate it?

How much do you want for the female connectors? I appreciate the advice... and your offer..

Should look like this. It's easy to feed the wire through the top of cab over to the pillar.

Great picture!!

I am thinking you meant you had the MALE connectors, right?? since the FEMALE connectors are what are on the visors and the MALE goes on the wire to the fuse block, correct? How much do you want for the connectors?
