Default Cold Air Intake

Curious about what is the best cold air intake and where to buy it...I was thinking about buying a Spectre Cold Air Intake but wanted some opinion. I have a 2003 F150 SuperCrew V8 4.6L

Your truck already has the best cold air intake... It grabs air from the wheel well.... Any CAI you add is just going to put an open box in the engine bay.... That's dumb compared to cooler air moving along the wheel wells. Best thing to do is the gotts mod. Look it up, do it, save $300, be happy lol

This^^^. Those so called "cold air intakes" draw air from a hot engine bay. They are in reality, hot air intakes. Save your money and buy some Seafoam or something

Default Cold Air Intake

I recommend you do some searches. A chip won't do much. A cold air intake is a waste of money. Do the gotts mod with a high flow dry type filter, don't bother with adding a "cold"(warm) air intake. And don't bother with a chip. Use the money saved by doing the gotts mod to buy an sct x4 programmer. Otherwise, only other way to extrude noticeable power out of a stock engine for a reasonable price would be long tube headers.

Or spray...

I'm one for never getting on the gotts band wagon, but when I say CAI I'm not looking for cooler air, I'm more so looking for more air. In return giving a quicker throttle response.

But like everyone has said, search and you'll be able to find several things one can do to improve performance...

I have a cold (warm)air intake on my truck, it came with it.

it also came with the stock setup, minus the big clamp that holds the filter in place.

when I get that clamp, the CAI is coming off and going in the scrap pile.

here's a good? video on cold air intakes and what they do for you

I never thought I'd see the day that people started talking against putting cold air intakes on their vehicles. It's glorious. *sheds a tear*
