These f150 with a vent temp cycling the compressor between 42-48, will never cool sufficiently!
I beg to differ. My 97 has a vent temp of 44* and will freeze you out after 10 minutes of it on full blast. The 03 Heritage edition I had had a vent temp of 48* and untinted widows/no privacy glass, It would freeze you out on a 98-101 degree day in the middle of florida after 10-15 minutes.

Your also talking new vehicles with newer components. I worked in the trade for many years and have the difference of the same style compressors along with condensers to change the effectiveness of the A/C unit it self.

As far as these truck using cycling compressors to control temperature is a outright lie. The compressor on my 97 and even when I owned the 03 would never cycle off. They stayed on consistently.

97 is a whole different technology, so no comparison to newer models.

There are posts with the newer truck issues and AC. Mine is one.

SO I don't need to beg to differ, since I am basing my comments on what Ford has told me and my personal experience.

Again, 97 was a different animal than new trucks. The new units have a cycling that is suppose to be not noticeable, but unfortunately for many, it is and their trucks don't cool correctly. Suggest you search for the complaints, if you want to learn about the new issues with 11-15 trucks.

Update: side stepping your two's pis*ing contest, I wanted to update those that have this problem. I have noticed a significant difference in the amount of air flow from the A/C after dropping the blower fan and cleaning the evap core with self cleaning coil spray, repeated the process about 6 times before putting everything back together, yes this process only cleans one side of the evap, but I believe the overall outcome is worth it especially in this south Texas heat. You will have to pull the carpet back in order to wiggle the blower fan out, the extra inch it provides is crucial to getting it in and out without breaking it. Hopes this helps some of you.

Now that everyone is done debating what would be an acceptable temp or range of temp registering at the vents, does anyone have any resources that could help me clean the evaporator of a 2016 F150 XL FX4? Just bought the truck a few weeks ago. It cools fine, but does not blow hard at all. The truck was formerly owned by a smoker and I suspect there is some clogging in a filter and/or evaporator.

I would love to find an online source which shows me the locations of any filters and the evaporator and procedures on how to clean them without paying a repair show $300 or so to do it.

Thanks in advance.
