Default Chopped off Muffler

Over the weekend, i got a little destructo-happy, and "accidentally" hacked off my muffler with a sawzall... then slapped a section of 2.5 exhaust tubing where it used to be, and kept everything else the same...

needless to say, i LOVE the way it sounds... (5.4, 4x4, scab)

however, i was also thinking about chopping off the entire thing, (leaving the two seperate cats on) and running two 3inch pipes all the way to the back...

anybody done this?
if so, too loud?

Dual 3" is too large for a N/A 5.4 engine. 2.5" duals will be the max size of piping you will want. Some type of crossover will benefit you also. It would be too loud for me, but I'm a geezer that runs a 22" magnaflow that's just a little louder than stock.

i'd definitely do some type of crossover. I think magnaflow sells just the small crossover part to make and x pipe for 45 bucks or so. Its a universal component so you can just fab up your own tubing.

That's all it is, and it just helps equalize the backpressure if I remember correctly.

The x pipe is for scavenging, the pulse from one bank helps pull the other side out.

I should give you so much crap about using the b word, but I'll just leave this here instead.
