Cheap performance mods ?

Default Cheap performance mods ?

I was looking at headers and some people say they don't put out as much extra power for the cost. I've done the simple gotts mod on it. i don't want to spent crazy money on performance yet.

LOL. Cheap and performance don't go together. Inexpensive and performance don't go together so cheap was dead when you wrote it.

Then don't do anything.
Until you can spend money (which will be more than the truck is worth) and do something that will make a difference, then don't bother.
Gotts mod alone does nothing. Removing/gutting cats does nothing except hurt performance. "Cold air" intakes hurt power. Headers do minimal if anything (short tube do nothing, long tube do a little with other mods). Tuners do minimal on their own.
A tuner, gotts mod, bigger injectors, long tube headers, larger throttle body, properly functioning cats and a free flowing exhaust may gain you a few horsepower, but even that is over a grand doing the work yourself.
The only way to get real daily use power out of these engines is to go boosted (supercharge or turbo), and that is not cheap ($3000 and up).
With you having the 4.6, your looking at ~ $6,000 for real, noticeable gains (and that is just parts, not labor) for something like a ProCharger kit. You then have to worry about your driveline holding up to the increased power.
Now there is always a nitrous option, but on a 18 year old motor, you are just asking for trouble.

Seems most of your posts are about power and performance. That is not what this truck is about. It was designed 30 years ago. It was made to be a truck (ie haul stuff), not to be fast or have high horsepower. You are wanting 2020 performance on a 1990's truck with a 1980's budget. You are not going to get it.
Focus on getting the truck running well and be happy with that. It will never be a cheap performance truck.
You would be better served by getting/keeping up with maintenance and focusing on looks.

If you want a performance truck, you picked about the worst truck you could have from Ford. They are probably the least "modifyable" truck Ford made. You can tinker with the SBF and BBF's pretty easily. Then when they moved to the 3V, it was able to be tinkered with easier. The 2V, which is where we are, is kind of lackluster. Great motors... just not in the performance sense.

don't you have issues with the truck anyway? fix that first

I had a loose ignition coil ever since I plugged it up its been strong 💪

I heard about that, that these engines barely do power with mods. I guess I'll just stick to making it look good. Gonna invest in a spindle lift, light bar, bull bar.

Seriously, the least expensive way to improve your trucks performance is to leave the engine alone and try cutting 1,000 to 1,500 pounds of weight from your truck. It won't be cheap but you'll really learn about your truck and fabricating and you'll see more performance you probably don't realize is already sitting on your truck. You have a great truck for this also because it's probably never going to be worth much to begin with. Your initial investment will be low.

This isn't true at all. You can easily take the truck to over 1,000 hp. Between the cost of the engine work and suspension work to handle the power you could go buy a new Raptor though. Is that what you mean by cheap? It is cheap\inexpensive compared to other options but you'd still need to shed weight..

When I mean cheap I mean like 300 and down. I dont have the money to trow in a turbo right now
