Cheap performance chips
Send me $50 and I'll send you a bottle with special air you dump in your gas tank to gain 50HP. It will double your mileage also.
This is legit. Only people who want the most performance buy it. If you're not looking to do burnouts all the time, this isn't for you.

It keeps the vehicle system in open loop (engine runs rich). It makes the engine computer think the vehicles has not heated up and dumps more fuel all the time. Does nothing to improve performance.

Haha!! Yea I figured that, I was curious what ppl tought about it on here. I read tons of bad stuff online about those stupid scams. If it was that easy everyone would buy them.
Goddamn scammers!!

Yep these are junk. But.... I'm intrigued on how these "work".
I think some of these "chips" have resistors which tie into your IAT sensor wire to the ECU. The ECU will then read a slightly different voltage from the IAT sensor and be "tricked" into thinking it's sucking in cooler air, and typically with cooler air the ECU will add some additional ignition timing for a slight improvement in power.
If your truck stays in open loop you will pull DTC's, so i doubt that's how they work.
