Hey all, Driving along a little while back and my battery symbol came on in my 2000 F-150 4.2 and because I do so ery little with the truck I ignored it. Yesterday going to the dump and coming back (roughly 5 miles) all the guages went to off and the rtruck made it into the driveway. I tried restarting and nothing. So today I took the alternator off and went to my local car parts store and got a new (rebuilt) one and put it back into the truck. Truck started right up guages looked good, and guess what. Darn battery light is still on on the dash. Anyone have any other ideas. The battery was on a charger all night and has been tested and is good.
