I just put in a brand new alternator and battery into my pickup when my old alternator broke. Now the same symptom is happening. The vehicle is not charging and is slowly loosing power until its completely dead. I am taking the alternator out to get it tested and hopefully get a new WORKING one this time. Are there any other things that will cause this?

The stock battery gauge slowly drops and when it gets to the bottom the truck always shuts off.
