Default Changing spark plugs

I just want to double check my info I have an 01 with the 4.6 and wanted to make sure the gap is to be set at .45 and the torque 28 ft lbs and iill be going with motor craft plugs anyone have the plug number?

The gap is .054. Not sure of the number, but the parts store should know it.

The general consensus was .45 to .54. Everyone on here has gapped them( the way they came ) .54. However, the service manual I have said .45 and I have had no issues what so ever. Other manuals say .54

For plug numbers - just go here: www.rockauto.com

I don't trust parts stores - they tend to eff this up ...

There is a selection of MC plugs... pick one with the features/cost you like.

28 ft-lbs dry.

I posted in the "How To" writeup what the deal was with the .45 gap.

Just gap them at .54. The .45 plugs are non existent...Discontinued...

K thanks jbrew u know the actual plug number for my truck I just wanna see if they actually sell me the right plug from ford lol they've been known for little hiccups like that

And I've ordered from RA many times. No issues.

But - that's NOT why I dropped that link - I did it so You could pull the Motorcraft Part Numbers!
