Default Changing Muffler

I was wanting to put a strait though muffler on my 99 4.6 wants. I decided to go with the magnaflow 12216.The inlet and exit on it is not offset ,but my factory muffler is. Can I just add a piece of pipe and weld the muffler on. Or will the offset of my factory set up make to were, I will need the pipe bent? Thanks for any help.

You can buy the same magnaflow with the ofset to match the stock setup. If you don't want to go that route then install the muffler where you cut the old one off then put a piece of pipe with a bend to your factory tail pipe. The magnaflow you need is center inlet, side outlet.

With it in center and sided out ,would that be still considered a straight threw muffler?

yes it is. if you go look at one and look through it you can look strait though. just a bit of angle. when some one says strait though muffler they mean a muffler that has no baffles and you can look through it.

I would suggest an HVS series from Heartthrob exhaust. Install these at work and they sound excellent. They do sell full systems. They are a small company in litchfield, MN. The HVS mufflers are made in house and can be made to your desired inlet/outlet, size. http://www.heartthrobexhaust.com/
