I'm thinking it may just work with my 12' since the truck is 18.8 ft minus the bed and the whole front engine bay it's about 7'-8' so depending on how I wire it possibly it may work.

Well when I had my whips I wired it through the grommet plug underneath but my cb is wired up by my visors so I needed a little extra. I have a little spare wire in the backseat.

Just keep one thing in mind. "Electrically," the cable should be in 3ft. increments. Reduces standing waves and other mismatches. I went with a "through the glass" install, and the range sux. I was thinking of mounting a standard antenna on the lip of the truck bed, or elsewhere. Center of the toolbox would make a great ground plane.
