Don't forget either a small generator, or spare 12v battery - which I use a small automotive fan inside the tent, and pump for an air mattress. The more times you go, the better you get at what you need to take - or leave next time. Enjoy the experience!

I think I've heard of that place before, we might have passed by it when we went on vacation in Tennessee

I'm on the panhandle of fla. not far from southern LA,AL or GA maybe a camping get together for like a weekend? I haven't gone for over 20 years and would have to buy the bare essentials. But it would be a good experience.

A Cabin doesn't equal camping! Too much luxury! I took a lot of ribbing when I showed up to the campsite with a truck tent, with an air mattress, extra car battery that powered a fan, DVD player, low voltage LED lighting (pathway to the latrine) and radio. Truck bed was filled with ice chests, ladder, chairs, shooting and fishing gear. Fun stuff, rather than the usual cargo from Lowe's or Home Depot!

I don't have a tent to use an I'm not gonna go buy one to not use it again. i usually stay with my aunt in there 5th wheel when we go. the only time im in the cabin/camper anyways is to go to sleep so not like I'll be watchin tv or playing playstation lol. some cabins I stayed in in the past only had there own small bathroom/kitchen and a bed. no tv or anything like that. it was alittle bigger than a cheap hotel room i guess. we use to have a nice 3 room tent an stay in that all the time when my aunt would take their camper but it got destroyed from not using it for so long. sounds like you have nice one person set up!

That's the main idea! The truck tent really only will fit a twin sized air mattress (a mil-spec cot was too long). I just saw a 4 person tent at Sam's Club for $150. But, you make a valid point that if there's more than one or two, then a cabin, if available, works wonders. Not an option at this property I go to. And, you can't stand up in a truck tent, so changing clothing is an adventure. But, the plus is that I'm not on the ground!

I love it, that's why I go every chance I can! an yea $150 for a one time tent, I'd rather spend that on new door speakers lol. we stayed in cabins till my mom bought that 3 room tent, stayed in that for about 2yrs when we went then she decided she doesn't like camping anymore so she quit goin an I started going with my aunt. you can just be lazy an lay down an change haha as long as your not on the ground that's all that matters
