Would cutting the original air intake opening in the fender larger offer any gains? I'm thinking especially if the heat shield were to be sealed up a little better...

I'm talking about the circular hole in the inner fender wall that the stock air intake draws from... I wonder if a larger opening would allow more cool air in there.

Has anyone looked into anything like this?

I know it's too small but something with a little more pipe length could be a cheap way to replace the stock plastic silencer thing.

But I got the hole cold air intake and I just took that plastic thingy out that's in pic 1 and threw away.

There is mine it ain't the best pic but it shows how shlty they made the heat shield and stuff
