Default cabin air filter

I have a 2000 f150 xlt and im trying to find out if i have a cabin air filter or not?

I don't believe so, 04-08 don't have them.

Nope, 97-03 didn't have that option as far as I know. But you can take the black cover pieces off, cut out the intake hole in the metal a lil bigger, and put one in. My dad did that to his bosses 02 farm pickup (owns dealer and farms) to keep the dust out and it worked good.

Well according to my boss, there is a filter in tour trucks. But you have to pull the entire box out to get to it. He has an 03 heritage 2wd, that was wrecked pretty bad. He bought it back and re-built it, and in the process had to replace the whole heater box. He put a filter in it at that time. So just to verify this, I got on the Fleetgaurd website, and sure enough, they list a cab air filter for them...

Looks like there is a dealer installed retrofit kit that can convert the stock system to accept a filter. Rockauto shows it as Ford part number F65Z-18D477-AA
