Default Cabin air filter

Is there a cabin air filter in a 2002 F150 Super Cab? If there is, how do you change it? I think someone has smoked in it and I don't smoke anymore and I'd like to change the air filter if there is one. Many thanks, KP

Some do, yet I've never seen one myself. If you have it, it will be right below the center of the dash, on the heater box inside, It would be a flip down (don't hold me to this) unit that has some kind of filter in it. I read it in my operators manual, but didn't have the option.

It is an option. To find it, look under the glove box and you'll see a black cover. 3 screws to remove it, though take the back one off first. You'll see a big black box and a single strip of plastic. If its sealed, no. If it has a removable cover, yes. If not, you're gonna have to cut it open via that strip, spray coil cleaner on it, then let it do its job. Just make sure to seal it up afterwards.

I'll post pics in about an hour so you know what to look for.

My truck doesn't seem to have that option. Hope I did this right!

I know the basis of it, but I never did it myself. However, there is another person who did do this. I'll look that up so it'll help you out a bit more.

as new threads are made or older ones replied to, threads that havent likewise been recently added to drop down on the page and to older pages which dont always get the most views by members; so when he says he bumped it back up to the top he commented and therefore moved the thread back to the top of the list to get more views
