Can I save a towing charge by using my jumper cables to start the truck? The solenoid cable is corroded, broke off. If I clip the cable between positive and solenoid will that allow me to start the truck to get home? Thanks

 

If you mean to run the jumper cable from the battery to the solenoid, that should work perfectly fine.

funny you said that - when i was hooking up the jumper cables a guy in the parking lot came over and asked if i needed a jump start - some people can offer to be helpful when you need them - i told him that a jump wouldn't help and thanked him - told him what i was trying to do and he stayed to watch - doubtful maybe - he laughed when the truck started right up and asked me again what i was doing - funny
