Default A built 5.4!

What is the most hp/tq I could be looking at without going boosted? I'm wanting to stay fairly reliable cause it will be a d/d but I want it to be mean I plan on 4:10 gears and I have a good built tranny so no worries there.

I'd head over to another forum for better info. I'm in the process of building a 5.4 (slow process lol) and there's more guys on the mustang forums that know about these modular engines than over here.

Check lightingrodder.com and svtperformance.com

Haha exactly what I'm doin man. I've got a pretty good idea of what direction I'm headed with it I'm just stuck on what cams to get and if they'll work with the pistons I'm using. Not sure how the pvc (piston to valve clearance) will be with what I'm lookin at... might just go with mild cams.

Yep - Lightning rodder is a great resource for more technical 5.4 discussion. I don't want to knock this site. But there are a ton of guys with built 5.4's which can offer valuable information. Sad thing is, I'm probably the slowest over there

Go boosted, It's the best bang for your buck. I DD my truck with no issues. Hell I still take it on the trails:

I'd love to go boosted too. I'm having a hell of a time finding a lightning swap and I don't know all the parts I would need and most people selling parts don't have everything you need to complete it... might just keep it n/a for now.
