Default Brush Guard Question

I recently moved up from my faithful old '93 F150 long bed to an '01 Lariat S-crew 4x4 (love it). The other day I spotted a brush guard on CL that the seller said came off a '97 F150. It looked like it would mount in my tow hook holes, but I didn't measure at the time since I was dressed in nice work clothes and it was muddy. He wanted $100. Picked it up for $60.

Now that I've had a chance in my clean and dry driveway to measure the spacing between my tow hook holes (32 inch spread), I see that the guard (36 inch spread) won't mount without some modification. I'd just as soon sell it and get the right guard for my truck.

Any idea what model this may go to? I suspect F250 w/tow hooks, but have never measured one. I'd like to be accurate when I go to list it for sale.

We had that problem with my buddys' grill guard, all he did was bought a 1/2" piece of steel to mount to his frame and then mount the guard to that. It looks like it goes to a 09-14 F-150 (if it is made for a Ford). The reason I say that is because of the "tear drop" things at the bottom. Any brand name, or model number on it? It seems to me that Chevy, or GMC had one like that and it struck me odd as to why they would have the bottom piece because they don't have a light down there. Anyway, here is a 07-13 GMC grille guard, looks very similar.

Thanks. I suspect that the bottom bar is there for protection and structural integrity.

Does anyone know what the spacing is between the tow hook holes on the 99-04 F250's or the newer F150's?
